Here's the story we shared with you this morning about "Krypto"
GREENVILLE, S.C. --
At Greenville County Animal Care, there's a dog of a different kind that's standing out this summer. "I got a call from our vet techs saying you've got to come see this," says Susan Bufano, community relations coordinator for the shelter. "I went to the lost and found area, and I discovered a cute white dog with a cape. Yes, a cape," she laughs.
The pit bull mix was found abandoned in a local Walmart parking lot, along with the fashion fit for a powerful pooch. "Every now and then you'll have one show up with a sweater," says Bufano. "But I've never seen one show up with a cape!"
Veterinary technicians quickly gave the dog a fitting name: Krypto. "It made perfect sense," says Bufano. The new addition, lovingly referred to as the shelter's "super hero" dog, is also a bit super shy. "He was real scared when he came in, so he'd just shake," remembers tech Carolyn Davenport. She jokes, "He does have super powers though. They include being super sweet, and super stick by you no matter what."
Krypto will be ready for adoption Friday, and Bufano says, no matter where he ends up, he'll keep what he came with. "Whereever he goes, he'll have his cape ready for him," she says. "He just needs a Superman or Superwoman to come and adopt him."
